After purchasing the tires in Germany, the forwarding company in Germany, Peter Harms, https://www.peter-harms.com/ informed me that the transport time would be longer than usual, so I planned with about three months. The freight forwarder picked up the tires from the seller, created all the necessary documents and shipped the tires to Asunción. The communication was very professional and so was the result. The effective transport then took a little over three months, since the Río Paraná had little water and the transport ships could only take little cargo. The agency in Asunción, saco, https://secure.saco.de/de/kontakt/paraguay/ had my tires stored in the duty-free warehouse because unfortunately I didn’t have an address in Paraguay. They prepared all the necessary documents, including the bill of lading. Since the bill of lading is a security in maritime trade, I had to personally collect the original from the saco office.

However, releasing the tires from customs turned out to be a very tedious undertaking and cost me a lot of nerves and time. However, I had both. Since no one wanted to speak a foreign language at the new, very large customs administration and I didn’t understand the administrative Spanish, I had to hire a customs declarant (dispatcher/despacho) to help me with the extremely complicated processes.
My recommendation is to organize a local address for temporary storage and have the tires delivered there. It’s definitely better for the nerves.
