One of our long-awaited goals has been achieved, the lagoon route. We heard so much about it that we really wanted to finally ride it ourselves. The high plateau is always at least 4,000 meters above sea level, which is why we acclimatized to the altitude well and seriously. Unfortunately, that wasn’t quite enough. The engine and my head didn’t particularly enjoy the altitude, but a quick descent from the huge plateau wasn’t possible either. We also had to show that we were still physically capable of repairing a truck breakdown on our own in the isolation of over 4,650 meters above sea level. It was a real survival experience, but obviously we made it through.
