With over 30° C outside temperature cooking inside is not really a cool thing, especially without air condition. Bruno Köhli has created a beautiful outdoor kitchen for us. Gabi is looking forward to the next heat wave!
We’ve heard from colleagues that during ro-ro-transports the truck often get burglarised through the roof top windows. Ours is quite big. Rusterholz has built a burglar-proof frame and also secured the glass. Now we drive much safer on the ship.
Our former cabin builder had mounted the rear winch in such a way that the hydraulic pipes were the lowest point. That means a rear grounding would have simply demolished these pipes. We wanted to have that changed after our first test drive at the time, but we were uncaringly told it would be impossible! Rusterholz has simply turned the winch and we are again a bit more off-road capable. The last storage boxes of our former constructor have also fallen apart in Africa, not good for off-road duties. Rusterholz has now used his substantial firefighter experience and strengthened the boxes accordingly. Last but not least, we are getting there and will be finally driving in a true expedition vehicle.
Hi Peter and Gabi
Nice comments! Interesting to know about the roof could be used as burglar enter… I hope it never will arrive you!
We used to live in Baja in México and we understand about hot places and cooking inside an already “hot place”. Nice to have an exterior kitchen… we guess!
How was possible that the exterior boxes fly appart?,
Thank you for share your experience!
Augusto
Hi Augusto
The boxes were not built stable enough. On the many kilometers of corrugated roads, they are simply broken.
